hello, i reinstalled my windows xp pro and everything worked fine, and when it started up, it prompted me for installing my printer (HP Deskjet 710C). So i just went through the regular installation process and it ended, but it said that the installation had an error. apparently, the printer IS installed and i have printed with it, but for some reason, when my comp loads up after a restart, it gets the message of "New Hardware Detected" (the printer) and i have to click cancel. i tried installing over and over so i would get the actual successful install message, but my pro cd is scratched and it doesnt work. i also looked everywhere on the net for the damn driver for xp, but its nowehere to be found because it's provided on the xp cd. so plz, help me, its not a threatening problem, its just an annoyance but one i would like to be without. thank you.

Download the latest driver for Your Printer Here. Be sure to read the driver installation instructions first.
Uninstall your printer software from Add/Remove Programs - remove the 710c from Control Panel/ Printers + Faxes - install the downloaded driver.

thx for replying LL, but if u actually checked that website, u would see, there is no driver there for 710C xp version, just other apps for printers..

The actual driver is on XP already, but did you read and follow the instructions on the page that I linked? If the driver is not installed properly, the printer will not function properly.
As suggested, remove the current printer configuration first.
