I have a client who needs to print to a network printer from the command prompt. I'm wondering is there any way to "redirect" the PRN or LPT1 command to the network printer? or is there a command for sending jobs to the network printer. Any ideas wouuld be appreciated. :)

Thx

Here's a couple ideas to investigate if no one replies. I use WinXP, so if your client uses DOS or Win9x or earlier, the command for 1) will be different or not work.

1) print /?

e.g. print /D:printername x:\Full\Path\of\File.txt

2) You can try setting up a computer as a print server to command all the printers on the network (who uses what printer).

Control Panel, Printers and Faxes (again, I am using WinXP). In the window that opens, click on File, Server Properties and configure as you wish.

Good luck.
