Specs: Windows XP
My print spooler keeps stopping and will not allow me to load any kind of printer driver. This problem has been occuring for all of 2009 and so keeps me from being able to print at all.

It's either a bad driver that was just recently installed, or a bad print job got "stuck" and the queue is hosed.

Either roll back the driver, or delete the spooler stuff. I'd have to look up which files and folders to delete to reset the spooler, but usually works.

Thanks for your ideas. Only problem is that I do not currently have any printers or print drivers loaded that I can see. There are no old or pending print jobs to delete either. I ran a program called cleanspl a few days ago to help clean it up. I have also run a program called Regcure to help clean up the registry. Still nothing keeps the spooler from crashing.

Thanks for the suggestions regarding Microsoft's spooler Fixit program. Unfortunately I found the same article in my research a few days ago and have already run this program. I ran it again just now to see whether there would be any change - but no luck.
