I have a problem. My printers have "disappeared" overnight, the Printers and Fax window in Control Panel is empty and when I click "Add printer" the "Print spooler service is not running" or "Print spooler service is not available" error messages come up. Under Services in Control Panel/Administrative Tools I have checked that Print Spooler is set to automatic startup but even when I start it manually from this window I still have the same "not running" error message when I go back to Printers and Faxes and try again to add a printer. Has anyone any suggestions?

i would first say uninstall all your printer software and check the manufacturers website for any removal programs/registry cleaners, reboot, start the service and reinstall your printer to see if that solves the problem.
