Print screen problem

Simple explanation: my print screen button doesn't seem to work properly.

When I press the key, my mouse disapears for about a second, which is an indication that the print screen fonction actually did something, but I can seem to be able to paste it back into Photoshop (but it works in Paint and/Or Word).

Must be something in Photoshop. Usually, when print screening, a New Document will adjust to the dimensions of the print in the clipboard... now it's doesn't anymore.

Anyone had this problem?

As always with my posts: Please, dont tell me stuff like "Try this program, it is great" or "Use paint instead"... as I consider those kind of answer no solutions to the actual problem. If I'm using the printscreen fonction, there is a reason, and if I'm using Photoshop, there is a reason. No patching the problem, solving and understanding is what we all need.

I don't have an answer for you but I do have a comment. If you need help with your computer the more information you provide the better the chance somone can help. You provide no specs on your hardware and I would suspect you may have some service packs installed on your XP but you don't indicate that. This is all basic info that is asked for with any post here.

if a poster is so particular about the answers they get then one should do some research on their own and find the answers that best suits them.

From your clipboard to CAN get the image into Photoshop.

Save the image to clipboard. Open Photoshop and create a blank canvas (FILE - NEW - OK). Then click EDIT - PASTE. These are my own words and it may not be called 'create a blank canvas' but it works anyway.

I agree with the other posters....
"dont tell me stuff like "Try this program, it is great".....
If you want help, you have to be a bit humble sometimes. Even if you know it ALL.....
'ALL' except how to use Photoshop!

(HE HE - TITTER).

Attitude problem? lol

<div align="justify">You know, I've been an internet user for about 9 years now and this is the first time I get labelled with an attitude problem... should I thank you?

I usually post here because this is THE best place to find answers. But I'm not the one posting without having already done some searching beforehand... and yes, Google is quite a tool that I'm quite fond of and skillfull with... I'm not a postin'n'waitin' kind of person. I usually post my prob here so that maybe others with the same can bring some more input. While waiting for any answers, I continue searching. 1 out of 3 times, I find my answers elsewhere by luck, but if I'm here, i't sbecause Googling didn't help much.

Now... if I added the fine prints saying stuff like "I don't want answer like: Use this program instead" that's simply because those answers are not solutions...

If you had a problem with your car, and suddenly, for apparent reasons, some mechanical prob appeared, would you like people telling you "AHH, buy this other model, it's better"... think it's usefull to have answers like that?

... it's a shame that I have to explain all this. I know I'll get a bit flamed, but hey, wouldn't you explain yourselves if you were misunderstood?</div>

By the way, I did solve my problem, even if I don't know why it happened in the first place. I've found somewhere that pressing CTRL+ALT+SHIFT while starting up Photoshop will bring a box asking if you want to delete your preference file... did that, solved the problem.

Once again, I could printscreen and paste before and couldn't after, not knowing why it changed... I seek answer to my problem, not an alternative solution. Put it simply, I seek to bring it back to how it was before.

I'm no know it all, but using forums for as long as I can remember, I'm used to having dumb answers. I just wanted to filter it out and maybe make some people notice how it's annoying sometimes... oh well, next time, I'll simply ignore those king of answers...
