previews avi files in kazaa

I know that avi files have to be decoded, so you cant preview them in kazaa like you can do with an mpg file.
But is there some tweaking program out there that can decode what has been downloaded so far? Because I hate it when I download large files only to find out that they are fakes.

Summary: I took my hard drive to a friends home and I noticed all my .eps and .ai files preview on his computer, when I am looking at the file in the folders. I can only see some files on mine like .jpg etc......
