How are individual programs stopped from re-starting when quick switching among users?

Have one program that attempts to restart for each user instance. The program is running in the previous instance using the Quick user swtich. The program cannot be started in each instance, so how is it controlled?

Thank you.

What's the program and why can't it run for multiple users are the same time? It's probably in the Startup folder for each user.

The program is Geovision, security camera software. Don't know about the newer version but this version can only run one instance. Don't think multiple instances would be good as it consumes a lot of memory(ram).

Thank you.

I hate when someone brings a computer to me that has multipler users...it's twice the work.

If you don't have CCleaner-Slim installed, get it. You will have to run it for each individual user to edit the startup programs. Just start the program, click Tools, then Startup...from there you can either disable or delete what you don't want loading.

Make sure you get the 'slim' version:

BTW, the desktop icon will probably just appear on the desktop of the user it's initially installed on. To run the program on the other user's accounts, right click on the Recyle Bin icon & click Open CCleaner....

Hi Jam!

Thanks for the input. From what I read about Xp, in order to protect the system, privileges should be limited and the system should have admin, user, guest users setup.

So following this logic, guest and user(s) have limited privileges, and it does appear to be more work, but it's more sure - isn't it?
