Prevent folders being created?

In XP pro, is there any way one can prevent a folder from being automatically created? I have an essential application I use and I've got fed up with it making a "output" folder on my C drive when it never puts anything in it.
It gave me the option to save my output files wherever I liked but regardless of the change of location the damn thing still makes the folder in the default location.
All I want to do is use something, to prevent it from doing this.

There is not a lot you can do about it I am afraid. It annoys the hell out of me as well as there are a number of applications that do it. Its just bad programming and because it doesn't produce an error message the programmer thinks everything is working properly.
If you tried to fix windows so you couldn't create folders on drive C: you would run into all sorts of problems.

smeee,
Just make sure that you are changing the "output" folder in your program, using "Administrator" privileges.
