Hi,
I have a new laptop with pre-installed Windows XP, and I'd like to put linux (RH7.1) on it, preserving windows. The pre-installed XP is on a single partition that takes the full 20GB disk. I understand I should shrink that partition to free up space for linux. The suggestions I found don't work for me: The fips utility doesn't work for NTFS. I have no backup device other than floppy. I cannot partition and then re-install windows, since I got no installation CD's, but only restoration CD's. So the only option left is to buy Partition Magic 7, but it costs $70! Does anybody know a more economical solution? Thanks for any help! Rolf
