I think I have a problem with my powerbox. When I push my power button, all it does is click, and the fans try to turn, but nothing happens. As long as I keep my finger on the button, the clicking continues, as soon as I take my finger off, the clicking stops. There is also a squeeking noise comming from somewhere else in the pc other than the power box. Any ideas?

No offense meant, but it appears by your post you are not very computer savvy. I suggest you take the machine to a local shop and let them take a look at it. Rgds.

What do you mean the fans try to turn? They spin once and stop?

It could be a number of things. The power switch might have gone bad, the mobo is messed up, or the PSU (Power Supply Unit) is dying/dead.

Checking the switch probably isn't too hard. Checking the PSU shouldn't be hard either (there's a $5-$10 PSU tester you can buy, or you can unplug all the PSU connectors and bridge a couple of wires to see if it'll turn on.

Did you mess with any bios settings before? (maybe overclocking failed, and you need to reset bios by removing that clock battery on the mobo for a few mins). Or maybe the PSU plug is loose. PSU's can hold voltages in their capacitators for weeks...so maybe that's how the fans are moving *shrugs*...figured i'd throw that in lol

You need to figure out what's making the noise. Just don't put your head near the PSU in case it explodes...
