I've been having this weird problem recently where my power properties change themselves. I have a laptop thats almost always plugged in, so I use the Always On setting and have it set that after I close the lid the computer does nothing. However, recently, the power scheme changes itself to the same properties as the portable/laptop scheme and it also changes from the computer to do nothing to go into standby. I know I save these settings every time I change them, so I am confused. Any information is helpful. Thanks.

It could be that the always-on setting is incompatible with laptop running on battery power so even if you save your preferred settings something in the laptop bios detects when it's running on battery and causes a change. Never having owned a laptop the foregoing is just a guess. Could be way off.
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.
