i just networked the computer i'm on now to an older computer that my family uses. since i did it, norton autoprotect was removed from my startup and i've been having difficulty connecting to the internet. also, explorer.exe crashed a LOT in the first few minutes of startup. a program called windows management made an error and was closed by windows during startup as well. i know the older computer had a few viruses and trojans on it, but it was, as far as i know, clean when i hooked up my computer to it. norton says my computer is fine, as does norton's online scan, and trend micro's online scan. i've got a bizarre entry in the startup section of msconfig (just box characters) that doesn't show up in regedit. i'm a bit worried...

ok i did the hijackthis program and it said i had a lot of hijacked domains and should consider deleting my hosts file...what's that mean? what's a hijacked domain? also, there's an awful lot of porn sites on there considering that, as far as i know, nobody that uses my computer visits them. ok so what did that fix? (btw that It.lnk is just my internet connection)

ok now after about 5 minutes from startup windows crashes and says it needs to restart because the remote procedure call ended unexpectedly or something. also... there's a program that has appeared called "msblast.exe" in my startup and i don't know what it is and there's no mention of it on google. oop gotta go there's that error again!
