To see the SFC options you can open the command prompt and type:

sfc /?

You will see that there is no option to select one file to scan. Why you don't want to do a complete scan is kind of puzzling.

For what it's worth to XP users: When you click on the 'Command Prompt' you are just causing the 'Command prompt' to be displayed. This prompt gives you access to the 'NT Virtual DOS Manager'.

Because it takes a long time to scan all and I want to check the file from a driver update. Specifically ultra.sys as with one scan I did a while ago, sfc replaced it saying Bad File Signature, but xp's own ultra.sys is too old a driver and doesnt work properly.
