possible fried motherboard

Had a power surge from a storm, replace power supply and still nothing. Fan not running lights came on once but went off won't come back on.

either the motherboard or the chip...I could be mistaken on the chip (CPU) though....before when the chip was damaged and or removed the BIOS refused to do anything...but todays boards are built and configured a bit different and they might actually come on without a chip.
Anyway look for a combo motherboard and don't expect to re use the old CPU for it.
You can get a good configuration (mobo and CPU) for under $100 (US) these days.
