Possible CPU Overheat

OS: XP Pro
CPU/Ram: 2.4 P4, 1gig Kingston PC2

I been readin alot of other people's problems, and have been tryin to figure out whats up with my system, I had it custom built by professionals (After I bought the parts) and it runs idle at 45/35C (CPU/Sys) don't know how to check the temp when I run games, but anyway, to get the the problem: I lock up whenever I play games for 30minutes. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

To figure out if it IS heat or not, grab a house fan if you have one, open your case, and let the fan blow into it while you play, if it lasts longer than normal, then you know that heat is DEFINATELY your problem, then you can post back for solutions.

Isn't necessarily the CPU either...could be the video card overheating.

If you have the CD that came with your motherboard, then it may have a heat monitoring program that will interrupt whatever you're doing to tell you the CPU is overheating. Often you can download the monitoring program from the manufactor's website if you know what model of motherboard you have.

I just ran a huge house fan on it today, it still locked up, so I have NO clue what's going on and I'm kinda pissed at all the money I put into it so far. Anymore help would be appreciated but I think I'm screwed.
