I'm runnning XP Pro and have a Gateway Router ...I need to know how I can go about to open up a port on my PC ....thx !!!

Just open up that port in your router/firewall, and have some application running that is set to use that port. Then it will be advertised. I believe that will do it, others welcome to add stuff though!
