USB Device Not Recognize - This is the only thing I get after plugging in almost all the USB ports I can find. It is a 3.5 harddrive casing with supplied.. win98 drivers, but I run on XP.
My 2.5 drive works fine, except this, can someone help?

Download the xp drivers from the manufacturer's website and install them BEFORE you connect the device.

On 98 anyway once you have instlled the USB drive device the usb drivers that are on the machine get associated with the USB device. After that installing the the proper drivers mad eno difference as the association is already made.
What you may need to do is plug the drive in delete whatever driver it is using, unplug the device then install the proper xp drivers then plug the device in.

It's a brandless casing with supplied 98 drivers. I am running on Win XP Home & Pro respectively and I could not get a recognition for my drive.
I couldn't find any generic drivers, so does someone know any that I can download from? Or perhaps even drivers from other companies?
