I have written several programs using DLLs to access ports (parallel) on my XP based computer at home. However, when I try to use them on a college network, I get permission error messages. Is there any method I can use to prevent this happening ??
ps I can't get administrator permission and I don't really want to ask

luxgud, FWIW, suspect you're running afoul of the college's firewall. They usually guard their systems pretty closely and take exception to a stray program or script running. Suggest you examine the firewall and modify your program so no conflict comes into play. HTH. Ed in Texas.
