popups do not work

when ever i click on a link to a place, such as a yahoo chess room, the pop up appears but it freezes. My computer does not freeze, just the pop-up. I am unable to right click on it or anything, the only thing I am able to do is close it. Everything works with netscape so I am assuming its an IE browser problem. I am stumped, any ideas?
