hey i have two question to ask. 1 how do i turn off some system services, so my pc startup faster and run a little faster?
2 i have the latest ad-ware remover but popups are still showing up more ofen now. yes i have remove the program that brough the popups but there are still still coming as if the program is there

How to stop your annoying popups:
Goto START > SETTINGS > CONTROL PANEL > ADMIN TOOLS > SERVICES. Scroll down until you see MESSENGER (not Windows Messenger), right click on it and select properties. In the STARTUP TYPE menu select DISABLED, apply and exit. Right click on Messenger again and select STOP.
This is also where you can stop and start services as u mentioned. Go HERE for more information on services.

If these are pop-ups associated with web pages, get a pop-up stopper like POW from analogx. It's free, easy to use, and once you've entered a pop-up in it, you'll never see it again. If you DO want to see it again, it's removable from the stopper.

2 good programs to get rid of spyware that gives you alot of popups other than the messanger service described above is ad-aware and spybot search and destroy. Update both programs and let them remove whatever they find. Both prog are free and have updates about once a week.
