How can I stop my computer from accepting annoying PopUps.

I currently have Pop-Up Stopper Pro installed on my PC but this does not stop every Pop-Up.

Is there something in my internet settings which I need to change to sort this out?

Do you have any type of spyware removal programs? (ie Spybot S&D, Ad-aware) Its possible that the popups are being caused by spyware, and if that is the case, its likely that a popup blocker will not stop the popup. In the event that you dont have any spyware removal tools, you can get them at www.download.com.

If the pop ups are just the result of using Interner Explorer consider using the Mozilla browser which prevents pop ups from occurring at all, or on a site by site basis

Go to start click on administrative tools then services and check that "messenger" has been disabled. If it hasn't - double click on it and then choose disable in the startup section.

Get a firewall as well. Zone Alarm is free and the popup stopper works a treat.
