Pop up windows close my ie

Every time any kind of pop up window shows (even just to add a smiley on a forum) I get this message that an error has occured and IE will be closed. It actually doesnt close immediately if I dont touch the message. But it will eventually. Pop up blocker is Not on... Please, help, what can I do??

Thnaks - but I have done that, with several different programs and it doesn't help... One Trojan was found and I thought: aww this is it.... But nope.... I have IE 7, should I update to 8 ???

I want to add that when I have 2 or more internet window open - if I try to close one - same thing happens = eroor message and POOF...
