i have service pack 2 with the pop up blocker and its turned to high but im still getting pop ups why is this

Hi .. I use FireFox /Mozilla and get no popup windows. I use Internet Explorer on my other machine and get popups :(

Have you disabled messenger service in services? If not go to start then click on administrative tools then services. Look for messenger and if it is not disabled, then right click on it and then properties and disable.
