I had a sharewhare program that didnt work so I deleted it. Well It left something behind that makes the IE browser to pop up with a closed Russian website. It pops up on the start up. Plus sometimes up to 4 times in an hour. Even when I dont have the browser open.

Can anyone help? Or tell me what the start up files in XP are so I can try to disable it that way?

I been to alot of xp site and I was told that you can disable all of the start up items without effecting the operation of your system. If you need some of them running you can place a check on what you want to run at start up. this will also speed up your boot process. You can do this by going to run on your start menu and type in msconfig then select the start up tag. reboot and this should help.
