i get this message after computer forces a reboot after connecting my internal storage hdd.anyone ideas as to what this means and how to stop it rebooting when i connect my hdd?

I assume it used to work before .

Can you boot to safe mode with it plugged in?

If you can't manage to get the problem solved get yourself a USB external case and mount your harddrive in it then mount it as a USB storage device

well i plug it in internally....boot up and then between 5-10 mins....i get the blue screen and it reboots. it then loads up to the 'send/dont send msg' and then repeats.

i am running 3700+amd 1 sata drive, 1 40gb hdd and then trying to get the 250hdd in. would incorrect jumpering cause this?, any ideas.?

When the drive in question is "not" installed - does the system run OK, or do you get similar/same message(s)?

when i unplug the drive it runs absolutley fine.
when i plug it in then it blue screens and reboots.

how is each drive instaled; i.e. what drive is installed as boot-drive, as slave; and what is the status of the sata drive?

the sats drive is the os drive and boot drive......i THINK the others are slaves( possibly the 40gb MASTER AND THE 250 SLAVE, WOULD THAT GIVE PROBLESM IF THAT IS THE CASE??)
the sata drive is a 250 gb samsung one(new last week)

apparently it can be a couple of things according to microoft help...but more likely to be power supply...would this make sense??
