Every time the computer boots up, we hear two beeps in rapid succession, then get an error on the screen that something about Plug and Play not working properly or some such, and we get two options, F1 and F2 to either continue or check it out.
Since this has started happening, our screen resolution is stuck at 800x600 and our color at 4-bit.
I went into Device Manager to investigate when someone recommended it, and found that my Radeon 9700 (under Display Adapters) had a yellow-and-black warning exclamation sign over it. I disabled a few things, but that didn't do anything even after I rebooted. I updated the drivers for the Radeon 9700 (including the Secondary), and when this first happened last Tuesday, that (followed by rebooting) seemed to do the trick.
Unfortunately, the problem is back, and this time, I can't seem to get rid of it. It would seem that the Plug and Play thing is what's the major problem, so--what do I do to fix it?

"Memory parity error" Possible Cause: Bad Memory.
Okay... that makes sense, since the Radeon 9700 has been giving me a Code 12 error (not enough resources) since this started.

Ahh! Thank you.
Oh, but--which Memtest86+ file should I download? I'm afraid I don't quite know the difference between a bootable ISO and a bootable binary, and I don't have any floppy disks.

ISO is a file you burn to a cd using your cd burning software creating a bootable cd for the test.

So... if I don't have any CDs lying around and I haven't used floppies in months, should I... download the binary version?

So regardless, I need a CD, huh?
Darn.
I suppose I can put up with this color/resolution until we've got time to run to the store and pick up some blank CDs, then.
Thank you very much for your help!
