their is something starting up at log on

it can be a program, but shouldnt take that long

possible things

virus:
spyware:
worm:

check task manager and see whats running along with the CPU usage

Christopher, check out the following site. These are registry tweaks by Kelly Theriot a Microsoft MVP. If you decide to try, make sure you back up your registry before proceeding.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with NAV2003! You will notice no improvement by upgrading to 2004, except the scanning takes longer. It is supposed to offer adware/malware protection, but for the life of me it does nothing for my system. I still pick up the bad stuff when I run my Adaware and Spybot scans. I have no idea what spyware it is detecting or preventing.

Can you post a list of all the items listed in your startup of msconfig? Did you get the pacs-portal website address from your security area post??
