Hi everyone. Here's my problem. I have 2 CD-ROMs, one is an LG 8x12x32 burner and the other is a Toshiba DVD-ROM. Up until a few days ago, every worked fine, both CD-ROMs were working as they should. But today, as I go to burn a CD, I see that I can only burn at 2x...even in trusty ol' Nero 5.5.5.1 any other option doesn't exist. Also, for some reason, my DVD-ROM has vanished. Coincidence or not, only a few days ago I converted to NTFS, but I didn't think that would affect hardware. I tried the ASPI stuff...no good either. What is wrong with my CD drives??? Thx.

Try uninstalling nero software again and install a newer version. I had a similar problem with WinOn CD 5.0. After uninstalling WinOn CD 5.0 again, my drives completely vanished. So my only solution was to install the software again and the drives came back (weird).

had similiar probs. be aware of the most current firmware of your cd/dvd roms. all my prblems disappeared after having upgraded to the newest firmware for my cd/cdrw/dvd drives.
