Please can you help?
I no longer have internet access on my laptop.
When the problem began, i discovered that i could not use web browsers any longer, but i could connect to the internet using MSN Messenger.
The web browsers simply said things like "page cannot be displayed"
Now, i can't connect via any means.
I gave my laptop to an IS expert at our school helpdesk and he found our that Windows 0 was missing from my laptop.
He asked me to download and install Windows0
(This was after helpdesk staff had removed a malware from the machine)
How do i do this please?
Thanks for your help

If the Windows OS was missing you would get nothing. I suspect he deleted it accidentally and is trying to cover his tracks.
You cannot download Windows, at least not legally, you have to buy it. Don't ask where to get illegal software on this forum or your post will be deleted.
You should have a got a CD with the laptop to enable you to reinstall Windows. If you have lost it contact HP and get another one. If you purchased the laptop yourself and have proof of purchase they will give you one for a small fee.

OS: Windows Vista
Product: HP Pavilion dv6700 notebook pcI agree with StuartS. I hope the so-called IS expert at our school helpdesk didn't do anything else such as rendering the HP recovery partition useless.
If the expert has not, press the F11 key during bootup and then select "Recover PC" from the menu for a full system restoration. CLICK ME for more info.
If the expert has, you will need to go HERE to order the Recovery DVD. As StaurtS mentioned, it is not free.i_Xp/VistaUser

If the expert has not, press the F11 key during bootup and then select "Recover PC" from the menu for a full system restoration.
wouldn't that cause all the important files and documents to be deleted? Shouldn't those be backed up first by removing the HD & transfering them to another pc?
Just wonderingSome HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

Thanks guys!
But actually this IT staff told me that Windows 0 ie Windows ZERO was missing, and not the entire Windows OS
Does this information make the situation different?
Thanks again

Windows Zero? I think you need to go back and ask the IT expert if he meant Windows Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) also known as Wireless Auto Configuration, or WLAN.
