Hello Everyone, I have two clip movie files that i want to watch them, but they are in the .DAT extension...How should i see whats inside of those files, i mean it says 01.dat and 02.dat and both of them are 300mb and i know for sure that those clips work and these are completed files...Please Help

Change .dat to .mpg it's as easy as that... Iligitimi non carborundum est

Did you download these files off of Kazaa? Kazaa names its download files as .dat until the download is complete, then it renames them with the appropriate extension. If the d/l is not complete, then the files are useless, and even renaming the extension wont do any good. Richard

Since Kazaa seems to transfer random parts of files (whereas Bittorrent transfers the chunks that are shared the least over the network), there's almost no telling whether or not it'll work. Chances are, if it's a large file, and you're less than 60% done (or a small file, and you're less than 90% done), it won't play. I have used a program to make such files playable, but I don't remember what it's called (something like WMFMPGAVI-Fix) AKhalifman@hotmail.com
