Comment:

when loading certain web pages I get a portion of the web page that won't load. I get internet exloroer cannot display page in that portion. When I right click on that area and go to properties I get res://ieframe.dll/dnserror.htm#http://ad.doubleclick.net/adi/psp.earthlink.dart/psp_ogp_300x250;sz=300x250;ptile=3;ord=98441625
this seems like an ad blocking problem, but if I turn off my ad blocking, pop up blocking and my firewall this still happens.
I've looked at my host file and put a # in front of ad.doubleclick.net but itstill has the problem. I don't know what is wrong, please help!!!

It's clear you have some mechanism enabled that is not allowing DNS of certain sites. Typically done with things like Spybot HOST protection for instance.

Check this to see if its the case. If not running a full malware scan on the machine with one antivirus and a couple good spyware programs would be in order to see why this is occuring.

The error is a DNS error so either your not getting DNS queries (unlikely) or your blocking/redirecting the queries so they don't work.

Why is the question now :)
