Greetings...
(I use Windows XP)
I've been trying to install ATI Display Driver. During the setup, I get this error message:
"...unable to complete, try to setup your display adapter with a standard vga driver before running setup."I have made a google search and I've search this board and found this post: http://www.computing.net/windows95/wwwboard/forum/156610.html where the poster had the same issue as me.
What can I do to solve this? I clicked f8 on boot, and choose to start on VGA, but got the same error message when I tried to install the driver. I know that there are many PC users out there with far more knowledge than me in this subject, so if there would be a kind soul out there who can help me with this, I would appreciate it deeply.
Yours faithfully, Miza

It sounds like you do not have your chipset drivers installed specifically the agp driver.
You will need to know what chipset drivers you need for your Motherboard such as VIA NForce, etc.
Windows: Just another pane in the glass

I have installed the chipset drivers from the fujitsu siemens website:
http://www.fujitsu-siemens.com/support/downloads_1.html (I have a Lifebook C1010)The name of the chipset file is "Chipset - VIA Chipset Service Pack".
So, I suppose I have it installed, or maybe I'm mistaken. Or there might be something else that is the problem.Thank you for your respond. Are there anyone else who can help me to get the ATI Display Driver installation to work?

Are you using a Radeon All-In-Wonder, or just an advanced graphics card? Using any ATI card, if you mess up on the install, you may need to go through the registry and remove ALL ATI references. Then start all over again.
I would go to http://www.ati.com and make sure you have all the updated drivers for your specific model.
