This is the 3rd post abut this same topic. Not many people replied to last ones. I really need some help. In the past i had the same constant / random freezing problem with my computer. I managed to do something and it fixed itself. All i remember doing was installing a Xaser 11 fan and decresing core volatge by -.1 because it was at 1.7 - 1.8 V and ppl said it was too high. Now its at about 1.64V (lowest i can set it).
The problem was somehow fixed back then but now i have reformatted my computer to increase its speed and the freezing is back. Happens randomly usually about 15 minutes into running computer. The fan and core voltages are still the same. The psu seems to work fine and is less than an year old.Computer Specs
Amd Xp 2000+
Biostar M7vib mobo
Xaser 11 cooling fan (also have 3 fans inside)
Geforce Fx 5200 ultra
52X samsung cd-rom
52X32X52X lite on cd-rw
Cable modem (connected through usb)
Acoustic edge psc706 sound cardI know that most people (or maybe all recieve this same problem have amd cpu's)
But dont know what it could be. Also i suspect it *may* be my sound card but usually it runs perfectly fine and doesnt seem to freeze because of sound.
Also my event manager doesnt seem to show anything strange when the freezing happens..
Please help me, its so hard running the computer with constant freezing.
Just before i was posting this same message and it froze so i had to retype it..

Did you try underclocking the cpu a little? It worked for me. I had one that would freeze and nothing would work but restart, no cntrl alt delete or anything. Just restart. Then it would do it again. I checked ram and every other thing under the sun. No go. I underclocked the cpu a little and it has never frozen up to this date again. That was about six months ago. It should have run at the speed I had it set at but it wouldnt. It would freeze. Underclocked a little and was ok.

Yea people have told me to do that but i dont think its possible...
The only options in the motherboard for it are under frequency/voltage and there it allows me to change host/ pci speeds. Should i do that? or i heard there a jumper somewhere on the board to decrease fsb from 133 to 100.

Also i suspect it *may* be my sound card
-Have you tried running the pc without the sound card?
The psu seems to work fine and is less than an year old.
-What are you running for a power supply?
-are you running pc 2100 RAM or ? 'and, have you tried different sticks of RAM?
LL

Yea, right now i have disabled the sound card and so far its ok.. but only time will tell.
The power supply is a 400 watt auto fan switching supply
Both sticks (512mb) (128mb) are pc2100

And no i havent tried different sticks of ram. Would suck if it was the ram but i have played around arranging it in the motherboard and i have also tested it using some mem test thru ms-dos and it passed all the tests.
