So...I logged on my computer one day and found that it was taking an extremely long time to show my desktop. I had just used my laptop earlier that day and had no issues-and suddenly I get the blue screen of death. Tried restarting...safe mode...all of that and still nothing. The error it gives me is something like 0xc000005? I cant really run anything on my computer because once it finally loads..it will either restart or give me the blue screen. I can load up the task manager..but only for a short while. I was on the computer long enough to see a pop-up on the lower right of the screen read 'Alert! New Virus Found! Delete! Click Here!' and it was a program I never installed-so I know it must be some type of spyware. Is there any way I can get rid of it?? Please help.

First lets find out what this BSOD says and take it from there
Once you log onto your PC do this:
Start>run>regedit - then navigate to this key[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CrashControl]
"AutoReboot"=dword:00000000
After you make those changes, restart your PC
If you are uncomforatble using the registry to do this you can do the following:1.Start>run>sysdm.cpl
2.Click on the 'Advanced' tab
3.Click on the 'Startup and Recovery' Settings button
4.Uncheck 'Automatically restart', then click on OK
5.Click on OK to exit the System applet, then close the Control Panel.
6.Again, you will have to reboot. Now post to BSOD to ensure that it is just adware/spyware/virus related.
Have you attempted booting into safe mode?
If you can, you may want to think about doing a system restore to a previous date (which you can also do from normal mode, but safer in safe mode)
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System RestoreThanks for any input.

I finally logged on using Safemode and Im now using a Anti-Malware software that is finally running....20 seconds in its detected 25 infected objects...so I can easily say my PC was raped by a trojan. :/
But this should fix the problem...I will let you know if what you suggested doesn't help. :)

Good to hear
If it ends up being adware/spyware that wont quit and you need further assistance, just feel free to ask! Thanks for any input.

Well..I think I fixed the spyware problem but the startup still seems to run a quite a bit slower than usual.
Do you know where I can go and select which progams I want to run during startup...and which progams I NEED to run during startup for my system to function?

Start>run>msconfig -> startup tab
I can't tell you exactly what your system needs, post whats in your startup and I can tell you.
Also you should do some disk maintenance
Disk Cleanup / Disk Defragmenter
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System ToolsChkdsk
Start>run>cmd - chkdsk /f
reboot PCThanks for any input.

Nothing in the Startup tab is needed for operation of the computer. They are programs that run in the background.
To find out what each Startup(or Process) item
does or means, and any recommendation as to if you should close the process:
http://www.answersthatwork.com/Task...
Task List Programs
OR
http://www.processlibrary.com/
The Process Library

I use this website http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php
Here you can search any item that is under your startup tab. Results will show Y" - Normally leave to run at start-up
"N" - Not required or not recommended - typically infrequently used tasks that can be started manually if necessary"U" - User's choice - depends whether a user deems it necessary
X" - Definitely not required - typically viruses, spyware, adware and "resource hogs"
?" - Unknown
