playing mpeg in windows movie maker

i have a disc with my racing on it and when i load it up its says its microsoft media player. i can play it on media player but i cant edit it. so i want to play it on my movie maker but it says its not readable. can i change the format or something to play it in movie maker?
There are other tools, need to know format of disc file first...

not with media player, you need something more powerful to open it up in and save it back as a different type. or maybe try downloading movie maker 2? there's no real reason why it sudnt be playing it, tho, as it reads any types that media player reads. maybe its a codec issue?

try virtual dub. does mpegs. you didnt say what type of file you wish to finalize as?

i said it was mpeg file..sorry for the confusion. i try to import it through movie maker and it trys to play it as audio. cant edit it. thats what i want to do, is edit the mpeg video. thanks

My mov mkr just rendered an mpg video. So you either need mpg codecs or update mov mkr at windows update.
