Play Red Alert 2 on a LAN on Win XP

I'm stuck trying to play red alert 2 on two win xp machines over a lan. I've installed IPX/SPX on both, both can get to the network window, but the machines don't see each other. Do I have to bind the protocol to the network cards? Any thoughts?

Unplug the modem from the hub/router. then try it. if your using internet sharing,disable it... that mite work...oh, and can you share files/printers??? cuz if you cant do that... then fix it first
