play dvd files on computer

I made a dvd of about 4 minutes.I had someone copy the files on the dvd i made to a cd and i copied those files to my computer. How can i get my computer to play the short movie i recorded.My computer does not have a dvd player.

What are the names of the files and there extenstion?
What type of media player do you have?
Example: MS Media Player
However Ms Media Player will not play dvds unless you download codec for them.
Sorry I do not use MS media Play, so I can not tell you what to down load, or where to get them.

TO answer my own question in case anyone else wants to do what I did. Here is a link to a very nice convert program. The easiest i have ever used.
