Pixelview TV capture card problems

I have just bought a TV Excel BT878P+(FM.RC) Tv tuner and video capture card with Pixelview. I have no experience and am trying to set it up to capture video from my VCR. I have no problem getting the video but cannot get the audio. I have audio for the TV channels. I have checked that I have set up the card with the soundcard and the line in is not muted, volume up etc. Athlon 2000XP and heaps of ram and fast hard drive. Hope someone can help me. Thanks Judy
