Pioneer DVD-113 Drive Won't read

Hello someone please help me I have a Pioneer DVD-113 Drive and it won't read at all anything not even cd-r's cd's dvd's or anything it won't even boot up a cd in dos. Nada nothing well I flashed the firmware from pioneer's site for my model and it takes it but sill won't read any disc. When I go into system properties it says the device is working properly. But when I go into my computer and click on the drive to see if I can get the view the contents on the cd it says this message in a box with a ok butten to click out if the title of the message is Disk is not formatted. and the message is Windows can not read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with Windows. and it says that with every cd no matter what.

I also got the same dvd drive in my compaq pc amd also the same problem. can't read any disc..
My drive is dead I guess ur might be also

I have also a Compaq PC (pressario 5000) and after instaaling Windows XP the DVD drive is not working. The DVD drive was working properly in Windows ME

the drive just stopped working after 3 year don't know why it has been working for over 1 year with windows xp professional it won't read any cd's at all.
