How do I play dvd. It says it is working, but when I go to play a dvd it wont play, it opens up window`s media, and says it cannot. Plz help

I have a Pioneer DVD 115 also in WinXP I just tried Win Media Player and it worked for me.... What video card and processor do you have? You can also try a DVD player like Cyberlink's PowerDVD or Intervideo's WinDVD or VideoLAN (videolan.org this one is free) free is good :-) Basically I have no idea why it won't work, but try one of these progs to see if it will.

Hi,
Even with windows media player installed, you still need a decoder to play a movie. These are either software or hardware depending on the video card.

nancy, find the software that came with the dvd drive, there will be a decoder in that somewhere..
