pioneer 108 dvd writer

I have installed a pioneer 108 dvd writer but it will not recognise any media nothing i put in initiates all i get is a clunk clunk and no media is present etc. Anyone help me Thanks

The first things to do are to check whether or not your bios recognizes the drive and make sure your jumper settings on back the drive(master/slave) or connected to the corresponding connector on your ribbon cable.
