Hi,
I am trying to place a ping batch file on my desktop.
What I have is ping www.google.com, saved as a .bat.
When I click the file, instead of opening the command prompt, and pinging google 3 times, and displaying the results (like it does if I type that command into c-prompt), it just continues to ping real fast.

Google probably has DNS router and is rejecting all "pings."

You will already have wasted more time working on tweaking this raw batch file (which still does not work) than you will ever spend typing "ping www.google.com" at a Command line (like the Run box)-- which, as you know, does work... So one has to wonder...is this actually appropriate/desirable? May as well waste time trying to create a Desktop shortcut to the Start button. Just sayin'...:(
