I have a network card set up to use local address 192.168.0.3. I am able to ping 127.0.0.1 and recieve a reply. However, when I try to ping using any other IP address I get the message-->PING: transmit failed, error code 65. What could be wrong. Netstat verifies my IP address is correct(192.168.0.3).

Do you use Firewall? If you do, please modify ur ICMP settings. Allow outbound Echo Request and allow inbound Echo Reply. You can block the rest. In this setting, you can ping other machine but you can't be pinged.

I have read some Viri can do this. Have you run a scan letely? Also of note is some damaged reg entries or programs can also cause this. A reinstall of the tcp/ip stack and NIC software may be in order Jimi_l
