pinacal pctv pro sound problem

My pinacal pctv pro works fine.I can playback any tv channal with sound.But whenever I try to record a channal it records without sound.What is the problem and how to solve it.I have winxp installed on my pc.

Ok I am guessing you have a tv tuner card with audio out? You will need to run a male to male mini jack from tv sound out to sound card audio in, get a stereo cable. Radio Shack, less then 5 bucks...also, you will need to make sure line in is selected in audio mixer and turn volume up a lil. Also I always check my audio recording properties in whatever program I use to make a file with. Depending on final file I want, I use avi native or if allowed make the type audio I want so less encoding later.

Also make sure that your recording sound is not muted.
Go to Volume in your system tray, and 'open volume control'. Or go to control panel sound options, then click the first advanced button.
Click on Options -> properties, select 'Recording' click ok.
Make sure none of your volume controls are muted.

after selecting line in sound works.Now I have another problem is that I have installed virtualdub with winxp operating system.I have tvtuner card with wdm driver.I have installed divx codec.I don't know weather virtualdub is compitible with winxp and wdm driver.If it need vfw wdm wrapper than where to download it.which capture programme is suitable for me
