Hi,
I tried to update my Philips mp3, but the Device manager keeps showing:
Buffer overrun detected!Program: C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe
A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.
What shall I do, 'cause my mp3 does not work.
Please help me!Thank you,
N

ok, I may I ask what part of the MP3 player were you trying to update, was it the driver/firmware/software? If so, does reverting to the older version affect it at all
Could you also include more information on the .mp3 player, and what update you tried to apply to it?

Problem started when I could not switch on the player at all. The display does not show anything, but black dots. and the only way to turn it off, if I take out the batteries.
I downloaded the Philips Device Manager. I read, that it could help, if I download a new software.

ok, that looks like the player is at fault...
Is there any way you can backup the music on the device? If possible there may be a way to re-flash the device back to factory defaults, but I will need to know the model no' of the mp3 player to find out how

It is a Philips mp3, type: SA2115/02. If I connect to the pc, I can see the whole play list -but I deleted it already. Thought that the update will work, if I delete the content.

There is information here about deleting items off of the device using the device:
http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/...And if you want to try upgrading the firmware again here is another link:
http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/...And finally, this is the main support page for your product:
http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/... (This contains links to the update files)I would reccomend flashing the device with the latest firmware and seeing if that fixes the screen/file deletion issues
