Greetings! I have 2 Nec's Powermate Enterprise Pc's.(OLD). They perform well, but,...the Processor/Heatsink (300mhx)Whines --very disturbing noise. Neither is running any additional task's,Both are exceptionally clean and Task Manager normally sits at 6-8 %, but Goodness,it really get's to you after a a few minutes.Temperature Cold or Warm, still whines! Any ideas? Thanks -EZ

I don't quite get what you mean by the Processor/Heatsink whining. Mind explaining it?

Found the Culprit! There is a small contact switch on the back of the pc. With the cover off, the switch senses it and an audible Whine is launched: push the button in / or replace the cover , it stops! No idea what it's for?!
