I've linked my PC to my latop which both runs on Windows XP. By using the built in wizard on both machines, everything seems to be successful, eg file sharing, internet sharing, etc apart from the fact that i don't seem to be able to view any of the web pages on my laptop (apart from logging into hotmail, or msn messenger) which is the computer, sharing interent connection off my desktop PC that is connected via adsl with a username and password. I've linked the 2 computer via 2 network cards and a crossover cable.

ok, if you are using a usb modem you could have problems, try manually configuring the internet connections tabs, if you need ip addresses type in c/:ipconfig in dos and it will tell you all you need. alternantivly, in dos type c:/ping www(your choice).com take a note of the ip address and type it into the address bar on internet explorer. if it appears then you have dns problems. find out the dns servers for your isp and type them in.
if this fails you may need to buy a router and connect it through another network card, then rin the wizard again, this will set it up for you.
