pdf printer driver install problem

when I try and install a pdf file maker it can not install the pdf printer driver. I have tried several different programs and it is the same problem. I know they do work because i have installed the program on other systems with the same os and all is fine. I can make it work at my mashine by making the pdfprogram use a different postscript driver - but the result is not as good. The error under install is when it attempts to add a printer driver at the end and it says: "the specified moduel could not be found" what might be turned off or is wrong with my maschine. I have been playing arround with various settings and services.
