Specs: Windows XP
Why cant I download any type of files? It says they are downloaded, but I can't open them? There is a manual that was sent to me to dowm load, and it says file is downloaded after I click on it, but when I try to open it, it says there is no shortcut for this file, or doesn't exist?? I had no problems in the past when I wanted to down load and copy out a manual? What am I doing wrong?? Please help!!

Go into the file's properties and check the General tab. Is the type of file a shortcut? It sounded like what you downloaded was a shortcut to the file, not the file itself. Of course, since the real file isn't on your computer or network, the shortcut is useless.

Adobe has a heck of a time keeping their products - including Adobe Reader - free from malware intrusions. I suggest you uninstall Adube Reader and instead get the free Foxit Reader.
