Hi All,
I have ran numerous file recovery programs to retrieve this deleted .pdf file. All have found and recovered it, but none of the recovered versions will open successfully. When I try to open the recovered .pdf, I always get the following error:
"Acrobat could not open <File Name> because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been corrupted (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."Now I have googled the error message with limited and unhelpful results. I have also tried to open the file on several versions of Adobe Reader and Adobe Writer.
This is a very important .pdf needed at the company. Any help or advice would greatly be appreciated.
PLEASE....no speeches on "should have backed it up.... :)
CHEERS!!!!

just because it recovered the file doesn't mean that the pdf is good...adobe is basically telling you that the file is corrupt and can't read it, that is because the data was probably scrambled on the drive to much before you recovered it, what did you use to recover it? and what kind of reovery was it? from a physically bad drive? bad filesystem? RAW reovery?

Listen, no garanties; it will probably not help because the file is too corrupted, but give it a shot: you cant loose.
Try PDFK @ http://dpaehl.dp.funpic.de/portal/?GUI_for_PDFTK
There are commercial products too, maybe they are capable of doing more, i realy dont know.
And give some feedback later on please.I do my best, but is never enough!

I recoverd the .pdf from a healthy hard drive. someone had simply deleted the .pdf by mistake about 2 weeks ago. I used Ontrack, RecoverMyFiles, restore4all, and they all recovered the file, but i can't open it. But its looking like there is no solution. The File is simply corrupt. Thanks so much for the quick responses!!!
Cheers!
Matt
